Signs Your Nashville Roof Needs Repair

  • A Stain on the Ceiling — Water is getting in somewhere above it, though not always directly above the stain.
  • A Drip in the Attic — Wet decking, a damp rafter, or daylight through the boards means water is already inside.
  • Shingles in the Yard — After high wind, missing shingles are the obvious sign; lifted shingles that lay back down are harder to spot.
  • Water Around the Chimney or a Vent — Flashing and pipe boots are where many leaks start, not the open field of the roof.
  • Dented Gutters and Vents — Hail that dents metal on your house has hit the shingles too.
  • A Limb on the Roof — Even a small limb can crack shingles and the decking underneath.

What Happens When You Call for a Roof Repair in Nashville

Five steps, from your call to the finished repair.

01

Call or Send the Form

Tell us what you're seeing: a drip, a stain, missing shingles, or a limb on the roof. If you know the storm date, tell us that too.

02

We Trace the Leak

We check the roof and, if there's access, the attic. Water can travel before it shows on a ceiling, so we follow it back to where it gets in.

03

You See the Photos

We show you photos of what we found and tell you what needs fixing, and whether a repair will solve it or the roof needs more.

04

A Tarp if It Can't Wait

If water is coming in and the repair can't happen right away, we can tarp the roof to protect the house in the meantime.

05

The Repair

We replace the damaged shingles, flashing, pipe boots, chimney caps, or decking at the source of the problem.

What Nashville's Recent Storms Do to a Roof

Nashville's recent storms have been tornadoes, wind, and ice. Each one damages a roof in its own way:

  • Wind — On March 3, 2023, an all-day windstorm brought a 65 mph gust to Nashville and took down over 600 trees in the city (NWS). Wind lifts and creases shingles and can pull flashing loose.
  • Tornadoes — On December 9, 2023, an EF-2 tornado with winds up to 125 mph hit Madison, and homes on East Campbell Road lost large sections of their roofs (NWS). On March 3, 2020, an EF-3 tornado tore through North Nashville, Germantown, and East Nashville (NWS).
  • Ice and Falling Limbs — On January 25, 2026, freezing rain left up to 0.70 inch of ice near Old Hickory, and trees and power poles came down in Madison and Oak Hill (NWS storm report). A falling limb can crack shingles and the decking underneath.

If one of these storms crossed your neighborhood and nobody has looked at the roof since, have it checked.

Repair, Replace, or File a Claim?

Small leaks count. Recent Nashville jobs in our log include replacing a leaking chimney cap, repairing 16 square feet of shingles and base, and tracing persistent leaks on a flat roof.

Repair or replace? When the damage sits in one area, a repair is usually the right call. When it covers most of the roof, or the shingles are worn out on every slope, we'll tell you a replacement is worth considering and show you the photos that explain why. See roof replacement in Nashville.

Storm damage and insurance. If a storm caused the damage, we photograph and document it so your claim has clear evidence, and we work directly with your insurance carrier through the claim.
